Aotea

Regular price $38.00

Aotea's cleanser combines two of New Zealand's native flora renowned for their gentle and cleansing effect on the skin. Using nourishing and antibacterial 100+ MGO Mānuka honey, and Kūmarahou with its high saponin content, Aotea's cleanser naturally forms a gentle foam, softly removing makeup and dirt from the skin without being too harsh.

Use morning and night. Follow with Mānuka and Kawakawa water toner, and the Honey Day cream to finish.

Due to its high saponin content, Kūmarahou is fantastic for naturally cleansing the skin. In the 19th century, bushmen found that when kūmarahou flowers are rubbed with water they foam into natural lather, which they could use to clean the kauri gum off their skin. As a result kūmarahou is often nicknamed 'gum-diggers' or 'bushmans' soap. Kūmarahou is good for all-round health, containing valuable flavonoids that promote digestive health. Quercetin helps seasonal health, addressing symptoms like congestion and inflammation.

Mānuka honey is both preventative and restorative when used in skin treatment. Mānuka honey is uniquely antibacterial; the enzyme glucose oxidase found in Mānuka honey reacts with the glucose component in honey + the oxygen in the water component of honey to produce hydrogen peroxide, which can destroy bacteria. This gives Mānuka honey the capacity to fight harmful bacteria that can often lead to breakouts and blemishes. Furthermore, Mānuka honey is also known to reduce inflammation and redness, and has been used to treat conditions such as rosacea. Mānuka honey is both preventative and restorative when used in skin treatment and has amazing pedigree in both instances.

100+ MGO Mānuka Honey (30%), Kūmarahou wash base (30%), Sweet Almond Oil, Mānuka Water, Vegetable Glycerine, Emulsifier O, Naturgard Pure.
